The "Mes Albums de Timbres" website (albumsdetimbres.fr) is a personal site dedicated to sharing a private philatelic collection. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit or use this site, why, and what your rights are, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French data protection law.

1. Data controller

2. Data collected

2.1 Browsing data (all visitors)

On each visit, the site automatically records, for statistical purposes:

• your IP address;
• the country associated with that IP (determined via the third-party service ip-api.com);
• the page viewed and the date/time of the visit.

This information is stored in the site's database and reviewed by the administrator via a statistics page (number of visitors, country of origin, returning visits). It is never sold or shared with third parties other than the hosting provider.

2.2 Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics (Google tag / gtag.js, ID G-DBX4HSYERW) to measure site traffic. This service may place cookies in your browser and send browsing data to Google. You can object to this tracking at any time through your browser settings (script/cookie blockers, private browsing, Google Analytics opt-out add-on).

2.3 Creating a member account

If you create an account in the Exchange area to offer or request stamps, the following data is collected and stored:

• collector username / nickname;
• email address;
• password (stored securely, hashed — never in plain text);
• where applicable, philatelic interests you voluntarily provide;
• stamps offered for exchange and exchanges/messages linked to your account.

A welcome email is sent to you upon registration, and the site administrator is notified by email of each new registration (username, email, date).

2.4 Cookies

The site sets a technical session cookie, required for your member account login to work (it contains no personal data in plain text and expires when the browser is closed or you log out). In addition, the Google Analytics audience-measurement cookies mentioned above are used.

3. Purposes of processing

• Enable the creation and management of your member account;
• Enable stamp exchanges between collectors;
• Ensure the security of the site (detecting abnormal usage);
• Compile anonymized, site-wide traffic statistics;
• Contact you by email in connection with your account (welcome, exchanges).

4. Legal basis

• Performance of a contract: managing your member account and the exchanges you initiate;
• Legitimate interest: traffic statistics and site security;
• Consent: audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics), which you can decline via your browser.

5. Data recipients

Your data is accessible only to the site administrator. It may also be processed by:

• the site's hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores the site's database and files;
• Google (Google Analytics), for audience measurement;
• ip-api.com, a third-party service used to convert an IP address into a country.

No data is sold to third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Retention period

• Member account and exchange data: kept while the account is active, then deleted upon request;
• Browsing data (IP, pages, country): kept for statistical purposes;
• Google Analytics cookies: according to the duration set by Google (generally up to 13 months).

7. Security

Member account passwords are stored in hashed form (bcrypt) and are never accessible in plain text. Reasonable measures are implemented to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or disclosure.

8. Your rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data. To exercise these rights, or for any question, contact: contact@albumsdetimbres.fr.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority) (www.cnil.fr) if you believe your rights are not being respected.

9. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated at any time, in particular to reflect changes to the site or applicable regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
